Ceolchoirm Lá Fhéile Pádraig

Bhí Ceolchoirm speisialta Lá Fhéile Pádraig againn sa halla. Bhain gach duine an-taitneamh as an gCeolchoirm Lá Fhéile Pádraig i mbliana.  Ghlac gach rang pairt sa cheolchoirm. Chanamar an t-amhrán "Amhrán na gCupán".

Projects- Non EU Countries

Sixth Class completed independent projects on a non-EU country this month. They worked hard on presentation skills and presented these to the class, showing and telling lots about their chosen country. Some people wore national dress, played traditional music and even prepared some typical food of their chosen country.

Step Up- Golden Boot Winners

We won the Golden Boot for taking the most steps during Step Up week last week, a total of over 27,000! Our training for South Dublin Cross Country definitely helped!

Design and Make: Foam Rockets

We designed rockets made from ie insulation, pieces of foam, cardboard and other pieces of material. Teacher had a competition to see who could design the rocket that went furthest.

Each rocket had an elastic band attached to its nose. When our rockets were ready we used a ruler to launch them. We pulled the elastic using the ruler, this created stored energy in the elastic band. When we let go of our rockets the stored energy from the elastic launched them.

 We used a trundle wheel to measure the distance each rocket travelled. We found that the angle the rockets were launched at was very important. Rockets launched at about 135degrees went furthest.

Clondalkin Library Visits

We are now all members of Clondalkin Library. The children's section has recently been renovated and it's really great. We are going to visit the library together every three weeks  to take out books.

Christmas Cards

We designed Christmas cards. We planned our design, made a list of materials required and then created our designs. All of our card designs were very different, reflecting all the creativity in our class.
